What does ERA, Inc. do?
Relocates to Tallahassee, our Florida capital, annually for the Legislative Session during March and April to lobby for the reintroduced Equal Rights Amendment bills, one in the Florida Senate and an identical one in the House.
The rest of the year, ERA Inc. manages the efforts of the Florida-wide Teams:
· Providing the most current, accurate Equal Rights Amendment information available
· Updating 34 databases
· Tabling and speaking at conventions and regional meetings
· Holding Equal Rights Amendment rallies; writing Letters to the Editors
· Speaking before county Legislative Delegation Hearings
· Lobbying in the local legislators’ Home Districts, and creating legislator profiles
· Collaborating with and speaking before allied Equal Rights Amendment organizations.
academic, civic, church, business, fraternal groups and law schools
· Collecting Equal Rights Amendment petitions signed by individuals and Equal Rights Amendment Resolutions signed by leaders of organizations.
· Obtaining Proclamations from Florida’s Governor Charlie Crist (Women’s Equality Day and Women’s History Month)

Just working for some day to have equal treatment whether x or y chromosomes. Benefits of ERA go to both genders! Respected studies show: more marital harmony, fewer divorces, more cohesive communities and economic growth. In other countries that already have codified.

ERA-like changes there provided positive outcomes: increase in GDP between 3 and 9%, lower costs of courts, food stamps, Medicaid, public assistance, and increased revenues. Besides, ERA requires NO FUNDING. Show me how many other bills can say that.
ERA is win-win, on the way to real societal evolution.

I've told our legislature that they've seen us in the state capitol hallways and their offices, that they will continue to see us there until they pass ERA, whether in a wheel-chair and on oxygen, BECAUSE WE ARE GOING TO DO THIS. Men and boys are with us on this, too. So's my feminist  husband who motorcycles, flies, boats and target-shoots. Love him madly.
thanks, sandyo

Our president is well-experienced as Change Agent and thus capable in her current role:
As university professor, Sandy Oestreich facilitated the Nursing Department’s changed focus to a patient-oriented one.
Set in motion St. Petersburg's (FL)  Main Library's adoption of inter-library loans, which had been worked for for 40 years previously.
With her Coalition, turned her city into one of only two in America to bring the city hospital in full compliance with the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution by bringing suit against the city.
Initiated and facilitated state legislation to require standards and licensing of non-nurse midwives.
Based on science, her organization was able to keep fluoridation of drinking water out of her county of residence.
As Vice Mayor, wrote and passed ordinances that keep “adult” facilities out of town, and to create a drug-free and sex harassment-free workplace.
We advocate for the Equal Rights Amendment by mobilizing the public, organizing and publicizing via online ERA newsletters; rallies; OpEds and Letters to the Editors nationwide; press conferences; speaking approximately once a week throughout the nation, southeastern USA, D.C. (spoke at U.S. capitol August 2012), and New York; helping to mentor the 6 other ERA-active states and advocating for our new co-authored speed-up ERA in the U.S. House and Senate. Our web site is www.2PassERA.org; Twitter at @SandyO; 3 Facebook pages, including tiny.cc/PassERA.
We have the will, the experience, the tools, and the supporters to advocate successfully for the Equal Rights Amendment. We are one of the best friends you will ever have. We hope that you will enjoin this noble challenge.
